Taiwan has taken the step of suspending visa processing for Moroccan nationals following Morocco’s decision to halt the issuance of visa confirmation letters for Taiwanese travelers globally. The Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Moroccan diplomatic posts have been instructed to cease processing the necessary confirmation letters for Taiwanese citizens who seek visas upon arrival. Despite this suspension, Taiwanese travelers who already possess valid confirmation letters issued prior to the halt are still permitted to enter Morocco, as long as those documents remain valid.
Taiwan has expressed concerns over Morocco’s decision, highlighting how it has interrupted travel and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. The Taiwanese authorities have called on Morocco to reinstate the standard visa processing procedures to restore normalcy in travel relations.
