David and Hazlewood Dominate as Australia Beat South Africa

Date:

Australia launched their T20 series campaign with a 17-run win in Darwin, thanks to a stunning performance from Tim David and sharp bowling from Josh Hazlewood.
David smashed 83 from 52 deliveries after Australia collapsed to 6 for 75 early on. His knock, filled with eight sixes, was a display of controlled aggression, aided by a dropped catch at a crucial moment.
South Africa’s reply was headlined by Rickelton’s 71, but Hazlewood’s three wickets for 27 runs broke their momentum. Zampa’s two wickets kept the chase firmly under control.
Maxwell added to the highlights reel with a sensational leaping catch at the boundary to dismiss Rickelton late in the game. His bowling was economical as well.
Australia’s record in T20s grows stronger, while South Africa will need major improvements to level the series.
